ASB GRANT
The Association of Southeastern Biologists (ASB) promotes research through three grants given for novel and meaningful research in the biological sciences. Grants consist of $500 plus free registration to the next annual meeting and a ticket to the awards banquet given to each of one undergraduate student, one graduate student, and one professional.
Proposals are evaluated for significance of ideas, soundness of hypotheses, originality, methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field. At the discretion of the Research Grant Committee, the grant may be withheld or it may be split in the case of a tie. Recipients must present their research at the next annual meeting, attend the Awards Banquet to be recognized, and acknowledge ASB in and inform ASB of any presentations and publications resulting from the funds. Only members of the ASB are eligible. While we welcome everyone to apply, only one grant will be awarded per lab/research group.
